            TL;DR: TellPaste is designed for minimal data retention. We do not require accounts, track your identity across the web, or sell your metadata.
        

1. Information We Collect

Because TellPaste operates as an anonymous pastebin and file-sharing service, we collect as little data as possible:

Submitted Content: Text pastes, snippets, title strings, language settings, and uploaded files.
Technical Logs: Server logs may temporarily record basic connection data (IP address, User-Agent) strictly for anti-abuse, rate limiting, and server maintenance purposes.

2. Data Retention & Destruction

Burn-On-Read Pastes: Content configured with the "Burn After Reading" flag is deleted automatically and permanently from database records immediately after its first view.
Public Pastes & Files: Public items remain stored until manually purged, expired, or removed due to policy violations.

3. Cookies & Tracking

TellPaste does not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, or invasive analytics scripts. Local storage or session variables may be used solely for functional site performance.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your submitted data. We only disclose data if legally compelled by valid court orders or law enforcement subpoenas.

5. Content Security

While we enforce HTTPS encryption in transit, please remember that content posted publicly on TellPaste is discoverable. Never post unencrypted personal credentials, private keys, or confidential financial data.
